MIAMI -- GCL, the parent company of Rock-it Cargo, and the global leader in live events logistics, announced the acquisition of the Magusa Global Cargo business, the Miami-based specialty logistics provider who is the market leader amongst Latin artists. Terms were not disclosed. Today’s announcement coincides with the start of THE Conference Live at Lititz, the annual gathering of touring and live-event professionals.
The news combines the dynamic Magusa team (led by co-founders Carlos and Romy Maguina) with the expansive GCL network across live events and luxury goods. For nearly two decades, Magusa has specialized in live touring logistics services for Latin artists, including Bad Bunny, Karol G, and Maluma. Magusa excels in multiple end markets, including sports and broadcast, corporate events, trade shows and exhibitions, as well as industrial and special projects. Based in Miami, Magusa also has offices in Spain, Peru, and Mexico.
“A year ago, we strategically prioritized supporting artists in high-growth markets like Latin music,” said Daniel Rosenthal, President and CEO of GCL, “After speaking with leading Latin music promoters and production managers, we quickly realized that there is no better way to support this market than by partnering with Carlos, Romy, and their team. I have enjoyed getting to know the Maguinas and have tremendous respect for the business they’ve built by putting customers first. Together we will deliver extraordinary experiences around the globe across both live events and luxury goods.”
The Magusa name will be retained in the marketplace, and the Maguinas will continue to lead the business. Romy Maguina shared her and Carlos’ excitement for their future saying, “We look forward to continuing to service our clients with the same level of service they have grown to love and expect from our team. Through our new partnership with GCL, we will be able to access new operational resources, strengthening our offering and our global reach. As Latin artists are traveling longer distances to larger venues and tours are becoming more complex, becoming a part of GCL will allow us to take advantage of joining the best network in the business. Through this new partnership we also aim to expand our services to support other parts of GCL, including the market leaders in fine art and luxury vehicle transportation.”
