NAJU, SOUTH KOREA -- NEWJAK, a leading XR (extended reality) technology company in Naju, Jeollanam-do, has been recognized on the global stage by winning Innovation Awards in the Metaverse and Content & Entertainment categories at CES 2025, the world's largest IT exhibition.
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the world's largest IT and electronics trade show held annually in Las Vegas, USA, where the latest technology trends and innovative products are showcased to the world.
The CES Innovation Awards are presented annually by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the organizer of CES, to recognize innovative and technologically advanced products, and winners are selected in 33 categories based on a comprehensive evaluation of product design, functionality, ease of use, and marketability. The fact that NEWJAK won in two categories is considered to be an achievement that proves the technological innovation and global competitiveness of Jeollanam-do companies.
The winning product, X-RUNNER, is a headset-free, advanced XR platform that combines RDW (Redirected Walking) and CAVE telepresence technology to allow users to move freely in virtual space and experience an immersive, tangible Metaverse without the need for a head-mounted display (HMD). This innovative solution can be installed anywhere, indoors or outdoors, and can be applied to a variety of industries, including construction, defense, and education.
At CES 2025, Jeollanam-do will operate a pavilion to help the province's small and medium-sized enterprises go global, and provides comprehensive support to promising companies, including NEWJAK, by advising on innovation awards and helping them prepare for the show. As a result, Jeollanam-do is achieving results in publicizing the global competitiveness of its technology industry.
