Fast Registration and Up to 30,000 KRW Discount to Boost Revenue Opportunities
Date: 2024-08-30
BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA -- Wehome (wehome.me), a unique local home sharing of Korea, is recruiting hosts in Busan to participate in the “2024 Korea Accommodation Sale Festa,” which will be held from August 27 to September 29, in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
This event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, aims to revitalize domestic travel by providing accommodation discount coupons to travelers. Guests can receive an instant discount of up to 30,000 KRW, with reservations available on a first-come, first-served basis from August 27 to September 29. The accommodation period is from September 9 to October 13. Wehome is set to offer legal, unique, and distinctive home sharing experiences to travelers visiting Busan.
Currently, legal home sharing for domestic people is only possible through Wehome, as the government has designated it as a special licensed company under the ICT Regulatory Sandbox program. Hosts approved under this special designation can legally accommodate both domestic and international guests through Wehome. With the Urbanstay registration only legal for foreign guests, hosts can easily receive special license through Wehome. Even those who are not registered to the urbanstay, residents living in Busan can apply for this license as new hosts.
Through this event, Wehome aims to further boost home sharing in Busan by actively recruiting hosts who can legally invite domestic guests. Applications for special license can be submitted during the Festa period, and with the license, hosts can expect an increase in reservations due to the up to 30,000 KRW discount offer. Additionally, Wehome will provide a fast-track registration process and special discount coupons for hosts to offer to their guests. This presents an opportunity for hosts in Busan, particularly those under the Urbanstay, to establish secure hosting practices, considering that most of their guests are domestic travelers.
“We are delighted to provide more hosts with the opportunity to participate confidently in hosting and increase their revenue through the Busan Accommodation Festa and host recruitment,” said Hong, Soonhyuk, manager at Wehome. “We hope that this event will further invigorate home sharing within the legal framework in Busan.”
While the popularity of home sharing in Busan is high, the rate of legal accommodation registrations remains low. This Festa and host recruitment are expected to bring a new leap forward for home sharing in Busan.
One of Wehome’s advantages over Airbnb is that Wehome refunds service fees, which are also far lower, making it more cost-effective for users. Additionally, Wehome provides fast local customer support and ensures all listed properties and hosts are verified and government-certified, enhancing safety and reliability.
