Patenty.ai Launches AI-Powered Patent Drafting Solution, Slashing Patent Drafting Time from 4 Days to 1 Day

Optimized ¡°Patent Expert Workflow¡± reduces patent attorney workload by 75%.
Date: 2025-12-30

SEOUL -- Patenty (CEO Sangmin Simon Lee), a legal-tech startup targeting the global patent market, announced the official launch of Patenty.ai on December 1st. The new service automates patent specification drafting and manages the associated workflows.

Patenty.ai provides diverse AI-powered support for patent attorneys during the drafting of patent specifications, including assistance with detailed text, claim formulation, figure utilization (drawing names/references), overall completion quality, and text modification.

Patenty developed this solution to address the industry-wide inefficiency where patent attorneys spend approximately 75% of their time on simple, repetitive documentation for specifications or opinions. While drafting a single patent application traditionally takes an attorney an average of four days, utilizing the Patenty.ai solution dramatically reduces this time to under one day (8 hours).

The core of this launch is the “AI Collaborative Editor,” specifically designed for patent practice. Patenty.ai adopts a “Human-In-The-Loop” approach, where experts interact with the AI to refine and finalize the output.

A standout feature is the “In-line Editing” technology, which goes beyond simple text generation. Users can drag their mouse over a specific phrase to indicate a revision direction, and the AI analyzes the surrounding context to refine only that specific section with high precision. By simply inputting invention data, users can rapidly generate high-quality results, including:

· Drafting claims and specifications
· Auto-generating and reprocessing drawings
· Verifying terminology

Patenty.ai has differentiated itself from existing North American-centric competitors by focusing on the Asian market (Korea, China, and Japan), which accounts for approximately 60% of global patent filings. To overcome the “linguistic and cultural barriers” that Western solutions often fail to address, Patenty.ai is equipped with “Native AI.” This engine has been individually trained on patent laws and formatting data from the IP5 (the five major intellectual property offices: USPTO, EPO, JPO, CNIPA, and KIPO). This allows domestic application specifications to be easily converted into formats suitable for overseas filings.

The service development was led by CEO Sangmin Simon Lee, a serial entrepreneur with experience developing and exiting over 20 AI products, with a veteran patent attorney possessing over 20 years of field experience participating as an advisor from the planning stage. This close collaboration between “AI experts” and “domain experts” has resulted in a sophisticated workflow that can be immediately applied in professional practice.

The service is offered as a subscription-based model (SaaS) and can be flexibly adopted by individual attorneys or large firms. Starting with this official launch, Patenty plans to expand its features to include Office Action (OA) responses and total patent portfolio management, ultimately evolving into a comprehensive “IP Monitoring & Intelligence Platform.”

“A patent attorney's expertise should be focused on establishing high-value strategies, but the reality is that they are often buried in simple, repetitive documentation,” said Sangmin Lee, CEO of Patenty. “Patenty.ai is an AI partner that gives attorneys their time back. Starting with the Asian market, we aim to grow into a world-class IP platform.”
