CHIN BEE, SINGAPORE -- IFF (NYSE: IFF) — a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients, health and biosciences, has implemented the Colibri robot in its Chin Bee production facility. This advanced industrial dosing system can produce fragrance sample batches on demand in minutes, reimagining and expediting the fragrance development journey for local, regional and global customers in Greater Asia.

The new robotic system, installed at the company’s cross-category Scent and Taste production plant in Chin Bee, Singapore, accelerates the path from ideation to formulation for fragrance creation. Replacing the previous system, it handles multiple ingredients simultaneously, operates four times faster and significantly boosts automation. This improved capability means more capacity, faster sample delivery and better lead time, meeting customer demand for speed in a rapidly evolving fragrance landscape.

“The installation of this new automation system at IFF Chin Bee underscores IFF’s commitment to continued investment in Greater Asia, one of the fastest-growing fragrance markets globally,” said Ramon Brentan, Vice President, regional General Manager, Greater Asia, Scent. “It strengthens our ability to support demand in the region with enhanced speed, quality and precision.”

With this new system, fragrance trials take seconds to compound. Additionally, the site can now produce 200 sample batches in eight hours, work that used to take twenty-four hours. As well as reducing time-to-market, the system’s efficiency empowers perfumers to innovate with more agility, moving faster from formula ideation to sample.

The Chin Bee plant is the latest IFF site to enhance operations by incorporating Colibri. Other IFF locations that already use this automation system include Neuilly, France, and Hilversum, Netherlands. Since opening its $30 million (USD) Singapore Innovation Center, IFF has continued to expand its capabilities in the area — from immersive co-creation spaces to advanced robotics.
