DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES -- As the world navigates an era defined by governance, technological advancements, and economic resilience, the World Governments Summit (WGS 2025) concluded its 12th edition yesterday, solidifying its role as the premier platform for shaping the future of global leadership.

From February 11th to 13th, more than 30 heads of state and government, over 400 ministers, 80 international organizations, 140 government delegations, and 6,000 participants convened in Dubai to discuss pressing global challenges, including economic stability, digital transformation, and the role of public-private collaboration in fostering meaningful change.

A Platform for Global Impact
Over the past three days, WGS 2025 facilitated discussions on how governments, industries, and global institutions can drive impactful solutions in an era of accelerating technological change and shifting geopolitical landscapes.

“Since its inception in 2013, the World Governments Summit has been a platform for future-focused thinking, bringing together leaders, experts, innovators, and entrepreneurs to anticipate and shape the future,“ said H.E. Mohammad Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit. “This year’s Summit provided a global dialogue to address the rapid changes and emerging challenges facing governments and societies, allowing us to assess humanity’s progress, explore opportunities for improvement, and empower future generations through effective governance and sustainable solutions.”

Key Discussions and Outcomes

Throughout the event, more than 300 global experts engaged in 21 forums and 200 interactive sessions, producing 30 strategic reports aimed at shaping policy and innovation. Discussions covered urgent topics such as AI in governance, the future of mobility, economic resilience, climate adaptation, global health transformation, and demographic shifts.

A major highlight was the TIME 100 AI gathering, where 100 of the world’s leading AI experts explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping industries and governance. The private sector also played a key role, with top leaders from technology, finance, energy, and media contributing to critical conversations on innovation and the future of policymaking.

Additionally, the summit hosted over 30 high-level ministerial meetings, fostering international cooperation and knowledge-sharing across governments. Outstanding achievements in governance were recognized through prestigious awards, including ‘The Best Minister Award’ (in partnership with PwC) and ‘The Global Government Excellence Award’.

With a 50% increase in participation compared to last year, WGS 2025 reaffirmed its status as the world’s premier gathering for forward-thinking governance. As leaders return to their respective nations, the outcomes of this year’s summit are expected to shape policies, drive innovation, and influence global governance for years to come.
