Flitto Accelerates Its US East Coast Expansion Through AIIA Program

A solid foothold in the North American market, driving localized AI-powered translation and interpretation solutions.
Date: 2026-01-13

SEOUL -- Flitto (CEO Simon Lee), a global AI language data & real-time translation solution company, is strengthening its foothold in the U.S. East Coast market and expanding its North American business in earnest through the AI and Digital Business Partnership Program (AIIA: Artificial Intelligence Innovation Accelerator) led by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

Chosen as a participant in the first 2025 cohort of the program, Flitto has focused on identifying practical partnerships in the US market to enhance its global competitiveness and build a local network. The project provides support for global AI startups in developing US market entry strategies, strengthening their sales capabilities, and connecting with potential partnerships. To this end, the program leverages the NYU Stern School of Business’s corporate accelerator program and its network.

As part of the first 2025 cohort, Flitto systemized its strategies for the B2B and B2C markets in the U.S. East Coast, focusing on New York. Flitto developed and applied a global sales playbook with mentorship from consultants and faculty members of the NYU Stern School of Business. Through this, Flitto established tailored strategies for multilingual environments with high demand for its solutions and successfully diversified its global customer base. As a result, the number of global customers for its translation and interpretation solutions grew 400% year-over-year, while export revenue rose 245% over the same period, demonstrating strong and tangible business results.

Additionally, Flitto achieved significant results in market-demand-driven product planning and improvement. Leveraging its market strategies and product-market fit insights gained through the AIIA program, Flitto launched Chat Translation, a B2C translation and interpretation solution that allows anyone to easily access translation and interpretation services regardless of time and place. Chat Translation features a web-based user interface (UI), advanced high-quality AI translation powered by hyper-personalization, and a multilingual chat interface that supports real-time communication in virtual and in-person meetings and conferences.

Flitto is also collaborating with the NYU Stern School of Business on the Stern Signature Project (SSP), a research-based collaboration that analyzes the language service landscape in the US market and refines business strategies with MBA students. The SSP is currently studying the U.S. regions and industry sectors with high demand for language services, providing a basis for precise market access plans and go-to-market strategies. Flitto plans to actively leverage the research findings obtained from data-driven quantitative insights to design its strategic roadmap for the US market.

Simon Lee, CEO of Flitto, said, “The AIIA program went beyond a simple acceleration and provided an opportunity to pinpoint where our technology aligns with the U.S. market needs. Thanks to engagement with various partners, feedback, and data-driven decision-making, our translation and interpretation solution business is witnessing a turning point in terms of both product planning and sales.”

Building on the above achievements, Flitto plans to further solidify its global presence by conducting PoC (proof-of-concept) projects for its translation and interpretation solutions and expanding partnerships in regions with limited language support across APEC and the Middle East, as well as the U.S. These efforts will advance its differentiated language-data technology—already demonstrated at events hosted by global big-tech companies including Google, Meta, and AWS—and support broader application of its solutions worldwide.
