Siemens Korea Digital Industries Signs MOU with Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education for Cooperation in Raising Future Professionals

Focus on promoting national competitiveness and extending employment opportunities by sharing advanced technologies and knowledge and supporting training programs

Offer internship program benefits to highly talented students in the province

SEOUL-- August 18, 2021 -- Digital Industries (DI) at Siemens Korea (Siemens Ltd. Seoul·SLS) signed an MOU on August 18 with Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education (GNE) to jointly foster future industrial professionals. Thomas Schmid, Head of Digital Industries at Siemens Korea, and JongHoon Park, Education Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education, and officials from both parties attended the signing ceremony held at the GNE in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do.

Under the MOU, based on mutual trust, the two parties will closely cooperate in sharing advanced technologies and knowledge regarding the 4th industrial revolution, supporting on-site practical training to boost employment, and pursuing a close cooperative relationship to improve national competitiveness. In detail, cooperation areas will include ¡âthe establishment of industry-academia-government cooperation projects in Gyeongsangnam-do ¡âoperation of internship programs for talented students in the province ¡âpractical education support for teachers and students, including hands-on training ¡âsharing of advanced technologies and knowledge, including training and technical assistance for teachers, the introduction of state-of-the-art products, and curriculum development, and ¡âsupport for events designed to cultivate professional talents, such as national skill contests, Siemens-hosted technology contests and seminars.

“As a leader in digitalization, Digital Industries at Siemens Korea is fully committed to providing hands-on training programs to schools in Gyeongsangnam-do, while transferring knowledge about advanced industrial technologies,” said Thomas Schmid, Head of Digital Industries at Siemens Korea. He added, “I hope that this agreement will contribute to equipping talents with the necessary technology skills for supporting the province to drive the digitalization in the 4th industrial revolution and even increase its competitiveness.”

“Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education has actively supported a variety of vocational education policies to cultivate key technology talents that the future society requires. I appreciate Siemens for its close cooperation for vocational school students in our province.
