SEOUL, Korea – October 15, 2019 – Samsung Electronics today announced that in partnership with Mobeewave, a pioneer in contactless mobile card payment acceptance, the company will deploy NFC-enabled contactless payment acceptance on mobile devices worldwide starting Oct 15, 2019.
Over the past several months, the two companies have worked together on a pilot in Canada, testing Samsung POS, a secure, mobile-based, Point Of Sale (POS) solution. Samsung POS enables merchants to accept debit and credit payments by tapping contactless cards, Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay wallets onto Samsung NFC-enabled devices - without dongles, cables or other additional hardware.
The pilot generated over 10,000 downloads of Samsung POS, driven by transactions micro-merchants and small businesses in a variety of industries looking to grow their revenue by accepting card payments.
Merchants who want to accept mobile payments can easily download the Samsung POS app from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store and go through a simple sign-up process within the app to register as a merchant.
Samsung also provides simple payment solutions for consumers through the Samsung Pay digital wallet, enabling them to pay with their device in Samsung Pay launched countries. Samsung POS now allows the company to provide a frictionless and cost-effective POS solution to businesses.
