BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--After nine months of intense competition, Formula E, the world’s first major all-electric racing series completed its inaugural season in June this year. On Saturday, 24 October 2015, the second season will once again kick off in Beijing with much excitement and Henkel is proud to continue the exclusive partnership with NEXTEV TCR through its range of innovative adhesive technologies & coating solutions.

NEXTEV TCR ranked fourth place in the championship last season, which is the best result obtained in top international car races for the team ever since its foundation in 2005. And Nelson Piquet Jr, Brazilian driver of the Chinese race team, won the individual championship with a total score of 144 points, becoming the first ever FIA Formula E champion driver!

It is worth to mention that the rules in the second season will be a little different from the first, specifically the teams will be free to pursue their own development of the powertrain, and this includes the electric motor, inverter, and gearbox. Power transmission manufacturer Omni Gear has teamed up with Team China to develop electric gearbox and powertrain for the racing championship and electric vehicle market and Henkel’s continued partnership will help to accelerate this joint development efforts.
