ABU DHABI, UAE--(Business Wire) May 29, 2015 -- Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior attended on Tuesday the signing of two cooperation and intelligence exchange agreements between the UAE and the UK.
Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Keith Bristow, Director-General of the National Crime Agency (NCA), signed the cooperation agreement. The agreement is aimed at boosting cooperation in the fight against crime between the UAE Ministry of Interior and the NCA in the UK.
The agreement also aims to further promote and foster cooperation between both parties in all areas of police work, to exchange expertise and develop training programs. Additionally, the agreement seeks to provide liaison officers to handle evidence collection and exchange of information processes related to crime fighting, and offer support to victimized UAE and UK citizens.
The intelligence exchange agreement was signed by Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Abu Dhabi Police and Ian Redhead, Chief Executive of ACRO Criminal Records Office (ACRO) in the UK.
The signing was attended by Major General Omair Al Muhairi, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Abdul Hakim Al Suwaidi, Head of the Abu Dhabi Police Cases Affairs Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior; Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General at the Ministry of interior; Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Deputy Director of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister and a number of UK officials.
